HTML Editor field is a way for editing HTML, the markup of a webpage. Although the HTML markup of a web page can be written with any text editor, specialized HTML editors can offer convenience and added functionality. For example, many HTML editors work not only with HTML, but also with related technologies such as CSS, XML and JavaScript or ECMAScript. In some cases they also manage communication with remote web servers via FTP and WebDAV, and version management systems such as CVS or Subversion.

Updating your Scriptcase to version 8.1.006 you will automatically be able to use the new HTML editor field type, we update our TinyMCR to version 4.2.5. TinyMCE is a platform independent web-based JavaScript HTML WYSIWYG editor control released as open source under LGPL, it enables you to convert HTML TEXT AREA fields or other HTML elements to editor instances.

In addition, you can also customize which HTML Editor toolbar will be available for the end user, you can create as many toolbar templates as you want and choose what template will be available for the end user for that specific HTML editor.

To use the new HTML editor template you will need to enable the use of the new toolbar, to do so, you have to open your form, on the left side you will find the Settings menu and then you will have to set as ‘YES’ the option ‘Use a template from the HTML Editor’, once that step is done the new options are going to be available inside the HTML Editor field settings. To create your own HTML Editor templates you must go at the top menu > Layout > HTML Editor Templates.
