Connecting with Informix PDO

The steps below shows how to enable the Informix extension on Linux, and also how to connect with Informix on Scriptcase.

Pre requirements

1 - Add the architecture i386 and install th following packages:


- sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386

- sudo apt-get update

- sudo apt-get install libaio1:i386

- sudo apt-get install libncurses5:i386

- sudo apt-get install alien

- sudo apt-get install gcc-multilib g++-multilib

- sudo apt-get install libpam0g:i386

- sudo apt-get install ksh:i386

- sudo apt-get install unixodbc-dev:i386 unixodbc:i386

- sudo yum update

- sudo yum install libaio-devel.i686

- sudo yum install libaio.i686

- sudo yum install glibc.i686

- sudo yum install compat-libstdc++-33.i686

- sudo yum install glibc-devel.i686

- sudo yum install libstdc++.i686

- sudo yum install libstdc++.i686

- sudo yum install pam.i686

- sudo yum install ncurses-devel.i686

- sudo yum install unixODBC.i686

- sudo wget

- sudo yum install ksh-20120801-28.el6.i686.rpm

- sudo yum install nano

2 - Download the Informix Client SDK :

Client SDK 3.70.UC8.DE

3 - Install the Informix Client SDK :

- sudo tar -xf clientsdk.3.70.UC8DE.LINUX.tar

- sudo ./installclientsdk

Note: The directory of the Informix client install should be: /opt/IBM/ifx

4 - Restart your web service :

- sudo /etc/init.d/apachesc81 restart

Driver Informix

Currently Scriptcase offers a driver to connect with the Informix database: Informix PDO.

You can see the features below:

Informix PDO ( Recommended ) : Allows the connection to be made with the Informix database using the native PHP driver, which is superior in processing speed and constantly updated.

Now we’ll access Scriptcase from Scriptcase from the browser and create a connection with the Informix database.

Step 1: Access your Scriptcase, for example, http://localhost:8081/scriptcase/ on the toolbar go to the marked icon in the image below, referring to “New Connection”.

Step 2: After clicking “New Connection”, the page for creating connections will appear, click on the Informix database image.

Step 3: On the following image, place the required information:

For more details on configuring the connection of the database click on Advanced

Filter - By clicking on this tab, you will see this page:

Step 4: Always test your connection before saving, if the message “Connection Success” appears, then save the connection. If it fails to connect, revise the fields that were informed, especially Username, Password, Database and Server/Host.

Verify if the module is enabled in the diagnosis.
