Connecting with Oracle

We will see the steps we enable for Oracle on Linux, as well as the Oracle connection on the ScriptCase.


1 - Add the i386 architecture and install the packages below :


- sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386

- sudo apt-get update

- sudo apt-get install libaio1:i386

- sudo apt-get install libncurses5:i386

- sudo apt-get install alien

- sudo apt-get install gcc-multilib g++-multilib

- sudo apt-get install libpam0g:i386

- sudo apt-get install ksh:i386

- sudo apt-get install unixodbc-dev:i386 unixodbc:i386

- sudo yum update

- sudo yum install libaio-devel.i686

- sudo yum install libaio.i686

- sudo yum install glibc.i686

- sudo yum install compat-libstdc++-33.i686

- sudo yum install glibc-devel.i686

- sudo yum install libstdc++.i686

- sudo yum install libstdc++.i686

- sudo yum install pam.i686

- sudo yum install ncurses-devel.i686

- sudo yum install unixODBC.i686

- sudo wget

- sudo yum install ksh-20120801-28.el6.i686.rpm

- sudo yum install nano

2 - Download Instant Client Oracle :

Oracle Instant Client Basic

Oracle Instant Client Devel

3 - Install the Oracle Instant Client


3.1 - Modify the Oracle instant client installer to deb to be enforceable :

- sudo alien --target=amd64 oracle-instantclient12.1-devel-

- sudo alien --target=amd64 oracle-instantclient12.1-basic-

3.2 - Install the Instant Client Oracle :

- sudo dpkg -i oracle-instantclient12.1-basic_12.

- sudo dpkg -i oracle-instantclient12.1-devel_12.

- sudo yum install oracle-instantclient12.1-devel-

- sudo yum install oracle-instantclient12.1-basic-

4 - Restart apache :

- sudo /etc/init.d/apachesc81 restart

Drivers Oracle

Currently Scriptcase offers 4 drivers to connect with the Oracle database: Oracle 8.0.5 or Higher, Oracle 8, Oracle ODBC and Oracle 7 or lower.

You can see the features below:

Oracle 8.0.5 or Higher ( Recommended ) : Allows the connection to be made with the Oracle 8.0.5 or Higher databases, also allowing to use the new functionalities of the databases.

Oracle ODBC : Allows the connection to be made using a Oracle ODBC Data Source.

Oracle 8 : Allows the connection to be made with the Oracle 8, also allowing to use the new functionalities of the databases.

Oracle 7 or lower: Allows the connection to be made with the Oracle 7 or lower databases, also allowing to use functionalities of the databases .

Creating a connection in Scriptcase

Now we’ll access Scriptcase from Scriptcase from the browser and create a connection with Oracle.

Step 1: Access your Scriptcase, for example, http://localhost:8081/scriptcase/ on the toolbar go to the marked icon in the image below, referring to “New Connection”.

Step 2: After clicking “New Connection”, the page for creating connections will appear, click on the Oracle database image.

Step 3: On the following image, place the required information:

Filter - Clicking on this tab, the following page will appear:

Step 4: Always test your connection before saving, if the message “Connection Success” appears, then save the connection. If it fails to connect, revise the fields that were informed, especially Username, Password, Database and Server/Host.

Verify if the module is enabled in the diagnosis.
