  • Unable to connect to MySQL

I am trying to connect to my remote MySQL Database from a fresh install of Scriptcase 8.1 on a Mac (El Capitan).
Using the MySQL (Transactional) DBMS driver. I am able to connect from other applications but not from SC - its not a port or permissions issue, and I am not behind a firewall.

When testing the connection I get error message (below):

    "Connection Error
The server requested authentication method unknown to the client mysql_connect(): The server requested authentication method unknown to the client".

    Any help appreciated. Thanks.

What versions of PHP are you using? Are they the same on both your development and production server? I know there are issues with 5.5 and 5.6, seems the passwordhash has changed.

If you are using PHP 5.3 (or later) it is probaly a backwards compatibility problem and the changes in password hash length from 16 to 41 byte

Try changed the password for that user, then change it back to the previous value. it should work fine
