Hi, anybody knows how to create a button to run a scanner to scan a document on a form?

    Thanks

That won't be easy as php is running on your webserver, not on your browser. So you should need a javascript solution. However security issues prevent you from doing it. If you search for document scanning within javascript you will get some options. But I think you will have to scan the document into a certain directory using a desktop application, then pick it up by an upload using scriptcase. Directly scan from a javascript might require java, activex, silverlight or flash. I suggest you start googling with that. I couldn't find a suitable answer so far. One interesting link on first sight might be : http://www.chestysoft.com/ximage/jav...can-upload.asp but this is a commercial product. I don't know anything about it. Another one is : http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/...F-from-the-Web Same issue, it requires a commercial part. Haven't found open-source solutions.

Plenty of thanks. I have searched for the same and found the following commercial site that can be used in php code. You can check the online demo http://www.dynamsoft.com/demo/DWT/online_demo_scan.aspx
      Thanks anyways.

The sourceforge item is nice, hadn't found it and I should .... So thanks for that, will be useful and I will try that one out. Still, it's an activex component to be installed in your browser.

We are needing the same feature. We will try all the above and report our findings.

So far the Chestysoft solution looks most promising. Uses ActiveX so we are writing plugin for FireFox.

I found a free online document scanning that can help users to scan while they're using Scriptcase:
                  http://cumuluspro.com/en/

                  Thanks
