  • Scriptcase and Jasper Report - Integration done

    Hello every one

We used the limited scriptcase pdf reports and we researched for a good solution and found that jasper open source is the perfect reporting solution. We successfully integrated scriptcase with jasper. We use scriptcase for our regular use and for all reporting we use jasper. If anyone need any help we will be more than to share our experience

    thanks

            Here is how we did
            - Installed java stack on the same vps server and installed Jasper; now jasper has local mysql and access to all files like logos
            - Installed SOAP client on php server
            - created a blank application in scriptcase and put the php code to call SOAP client for jasper (with parameters being passed from scriptcase forms)
            - open the jasper url as pdf and now we got a beautiful looking pdf document

You can check it here http://my.skvschools.org/form_mini_a...pplication.php
put something for phone and name and click on Print Application button

            hope this helps all

              *** Installed java stack ***

That will be a problem to many of us. I don't want java to run on my servers and I'm fond that SC7 has no java dependencies in runtime any more. Most providers do not support the javastack. It's up to anybody to use it, but I consider java as a serious hackable threat.

You can run java stack with jasper on a separate server and have access your mysql tables

Reinhard, just to be sure that I did not misunderstood. The jasper parts deployed on the production enviroment, as described in your link, do not need any java support, even not from an additional server?

I currently can not say for sure, because I still need to test. But look at this website for more information.

                        Hi,
sorry for beeing late. (as always ;-) )
I'm using the before mentioned phpjasperxml class from simit.com for allmost two years now and it is working flawlessly. I can assure you that there is no need of java at all.
And it's a breeze to use.

                        Cheers

You can use "runjasperreports" command utility to execute a jasper report saved in your server AND you can execute it with different database connections, parameters, etc every time.

simple as a shell with a windows command line ......

I am a developer of jasper report barcode generater of ean13.I am just new to jasper reports.

I would like to use Java reports 'report engine' to generate reports (HTML/PDF etc) and display them on my website.

However, my website is using a PHP web framework. Can anyone suggest how I may be be able to use Jasper Reports within a PHP web framework?

This forum is for Scriptcase, so this post is considered to be off topic. Please post this on the jasper forums.
