  • New forum fixes

    Hello everybody,

My name is Henrique, but you can call me Rick. I'm here to fix this forum's issues and ensure the best forum experience for all users. I created this thread to receive all the complaints, bugs, suggestions, warns and everything else from the users in one place.

I ask you, if you have anything to say about the forum, do it here. I'll be closing all the threads about forum issues from now and posting a link to this thread.

There is a lot of work to do, and I know everybody have something to say, but I beg you to read what people posted before posting something. Do not post here just to say that agree with someones suggestion or something. There will be a lot of posts here, let's try to prevent a pandemonium.

    Thank You and You're Welcome.

    ======================EDITED======================

    ISSUES RECEIVED:

1 - Garbage from old forum conversion. (Fixed)
2 - Missing date from converted posts. (Fixed)
3 - There is no "code" feature on post editor. (Fixed)

    Hi Rick,
It's very good to see that the complaints are taken seriously. To prevent double posting of issues I recommend to implement a bugtracker to see what issues there are and what's being done about it. I know you have one in your technical department, but it's not end-user accessible. I think it would be of great help if we could see the buglist and status. You can keep control of feeding this list by the issues reported here.

I really apreciate the suggestion... I already have a system to catalog and track only forum issues internally, but it would be very hard to make people here to build a public-open server with a tool for bug reporting, you know? I'll be able to check every post here, eliminate duplicity and catalog the issues in my internal system. If the situation gets too confuse here, I'll request for a open bug tracker system.

      Thank you.

One bug: if someone posted code in the previous board then it is incorrectly reencoded in the new one.
        Example:
<?php will be now shown encoded. So the conversion failed.

Second bug: all the dates of the posts are not properly converted. That should be fixed too.

Example even where it doesnt concern code:
        http://forum.scriptcase.net/showthre...om-ilerian-com

See the % stuff that is badly converted.

It would be a start. My problem is that a lot of my suggestions and bugs are 'reported to the dev team', but that I don't have a clue what's been done. Some issues where resolved in a new edition, sometimes not. In mantis there's a buglist. The only thing you need to do is export it and publish. Doesn't have to be every day, but i.e. once a week.

It is being reviewed. The conversion tool generated these garbage. Our team is working on the better way to prevent the garbage, if there is no way to use the conversion tool, the sollution will be make a new one (or tweak the existing one), which would take a little.

I totally understand your issue and agree with you. But the purpose of this page is to fix Forum issues. If you have any issues, complaints or suggestions about ScriptCase, you must send an e-mail to bug@scriptcase.net(bugs), support@scriptcase.net(complaints) or suggestions@scriptcase.net(suggestions). I am, as forum administrator, unable to help you with problems between you and NetMake.

              Thank you.

Also I see no way of puting a CODE as a speciall text (like I was able to do it in the former FORUM version).

I'm sorry, I didn't understand. There is a issue with the quotes converted from the old forum, but are you still having issues with quotes in new posts? Tell me what exactly happened.

The code feature. This I can deal, I'll be working on it.

From this point, I'll be editing my first post to infor you the issues related here.

The conversion/storage of the old content is one of the priorities. I'm hardly working on it.

                  Thank you.
