  • Grid with tree view (accounting tree)

    Hello.
I have 3 tables in my db.

    table 1 structure:
    id, level1

    table 2 structure:
    id, level1, level2
    * level1 select from table 1

    table 3 structure:
    id, level1, level2, level3
    * level 1 & 2 (select) from table1 and table 2 with Ajax

I want to make the final result in a grid but as tree view, i tried nested grid but no luck, would you please help me figure this out?

    Thanks

    Good Morning
Thank you for using our service support.
To do that you'll need a tree menu application, but haven't done any tests to do something like your asking.
Therefor i don't have any examples to pass you.

Nested grid would be the way I would try, but the tree menu is not the way to go. If you only need to display the structure as a tree you can consider creating a function which delivers the structure in html and then create a label field to display the result. I.e. with | + etc.

          root
          |-subroot
          |
          |-subroot 2
          | |
          | subsubroot

          or
          Code:
          +root
              +subroot
                    +subsub
                    +subsub
              +subroot
or whatever suits you. If needed you can assign hyperlinks to them.

That is not hard to be done, once you have a relationship on on those tables you can do it with no problem. Please link me the code that you are inserting on the SQL settings from those grids and I will try to help you out.

I have asked this same question over a year ago, and would be interested in having the data tree. The nested grids are OK, but are not the same, so offering it is not a solution.

                      Just curious... how?

But I agree, there's no use in buying support as the quality of answers is generally very poor.

At least your dog does not need to take English lessons to support you - LOL
I bet next SC version will have more CHARTS implemented - they love doing charts (not trees)

I watched Carlos video - he did very god job. I would love to see more advanced webinars for advanced development. I think we already have enough basic commercial videos. Webinars are much better than pre-recorded videos because they allow to send questions. The problem is that some unanswered questions (I do not expect anybody to know everything) should be answered in a next webinar. This way all will make progress and learn things which are hidden or unknown. This will possibly also expose the bugs or things which need to be taken care off.

I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE RELATIONAL DATA TREE in the next SC release.

Agree. This is the problem webinars is not given by technical people.
We are trying to "command" some webinars for advanced questions, but a) my English is not very good, and b) as always, lack of time

I have done one about PayPal, but I'm not native English too. But it's fun to do, but that doesn't mean that I know everything. My lack is using Javascript and I would love to see a webinar about that. But I'm always prepared to do a webinar about more advanced stuff, but to prepare a webinar for over an hour I would prefer to create a webcast so I can do things over until I'm satisfied.
