  • Horrible Nightmare on SC Support, I need Alternative Support Community in English

I have a few opened ticket in Support, after at least 3 to 4 round of communication per ticket, they still unable to actually understand what is my questions, and the worst part is, most of the time, their replied answer, makes me even more confuse after read it.

I'm super regret after purchase the license and after so many communication with their support team, I'm still having a hard time trying to understand some of the fundamental of SC to start building apps.

The motive of this post is, I need to know, is there any English Speaking community for SC developer which I can join in?

I really can't survive anymore with SC support team. It's really my worst nightmare in Software Support. I really need help or my money for SC will be gone for nothing.

Please advice, thanks in advance... Lesz.

First of all this is an English support forum. So you're on the right spot. We are all volunteers answering your questions. Besides that I'm working on creating an independent user forum. So you can hangout there although there are not that many members currently. But feel free to put your questions here. I saw a few reposts of your message, but actually not many real questions to be answered by the community.

Learning Scriptcase has a pretty steep learning curve. I don't know where you are in the process, but I found the samples to be a big help. You have to install them (if you already haven't), then you can click "All Applications", then browse the descriptions to find what you want to figure out.

The documentation is not a lot of help, and there aren't many online resources. Post up some questions and hopefully you will get some good advice.

Don't forget to checkout the video's. I disagree on the steep curve, in our organisation even a novice was pretty fast productive. But knowledge doesn't fly to you, you need to do something.

I apologise for the duplicate post, part of it are technical error created by myself.

Anyway, thanks for your reply on my post and I'm glad that I can finally speak to someone in English about SC. I'll post a few questions later. Thank you.

I had quite an easy time learning the software using the supplied examples, help and this forum which is really the best place for information.
The only problem I have had is yes the lousy support, had a ticket open for like 8 months and not long ago gave up with the back and forward of asking me for my project files and the same qustions over and over again. They must think either we are idiots or that we dont understant them, or is that the other way around.
Either way I have no confidence and have already written the investment off even thou I cant afford it and have lost hours of dev time within the tool, only not to complete a single project.
I do hope that either the latest update has solved the issues I was having, but I kind of doubt it... so maybe by the time the version 12... comes out I may have a chance of working with this without the issues. Oh but then I guess I would have to pay for an upgrade right and waste more money.
At them moment I dont have the time to chase this but as you can tell, dissapointed is the word.
            just my little input

I can agree on the support part, I haven't had good experiences with that. And yes there are (anoying) bugs which exists for a long time. We have been strugling (well rr has and scriptfan) a lot with uploads and still are. Even great documented bugs with resolution (see posts of rr on this matter) have not been taken serious because the problem persists in version 7 where it was already reported way back in 6. Something to pull your hair out.

On the other hand, we managed to pass by them. It requires some technical knowledge and it's not a nice thing to do but it's do-able.

Did I write SC off? Absolutely not!. I wouldn't be here around a sec if that was the case. Despite several anoyances I have a lot of experiences with other case tools, and believe me, it can be much worse. On the functional side SC is by far the best product in it's kind. Again, before going to SC I did a lot of research. Scriptcase has currently saved me hundreds, probabely thousands hours of work and I have currently projects of hundreds of SC apps in production working very well.

Improving support and quality control should be main issue at SC as this is holding a lot of potential customers away. I can assure that SC is fully aware of the issue and is working on it. But fact is too that the Brazilan way of life differs from the 'western' way of life. It simply takes far too long.

Now then the 1000$ question. Can you make all with SC the way you want it? ***NO***! Scriptcase is a case tool. It has preprogrammed algorithm's or paradigma's if you like which are pretty static. You can modify by using (ajax) events and sometimes you are wanting to have an event to do something which there isn't. So you need to know a little about how things are done to achieve a business rule. Not always the way you like it, and sometimes you must find a working solution or an alternative way around. That's not something to get angry about, it's just how any casetool works. If you don't like / want that you should build your app yourself using Zend, phpEd or whatever with smarty, ajax and all the other time consuming stuff. But the application will be 100% of what you want then. And honestly, there are sometimes solutions I build in phpEd and then port to SC. Just because these are too complex to get them debugged, it's great to have a good raw php development tool too.

I hope the changes of problems-cause-by-bugs will be low. Jamie you mean you are unable to complete even one project with SC. Could it be that bad?

I wonder what the problem is. I assure you that we run pretty complex applications without problems. But sometimes you need to be creative.

Am sorry to say but yes it is that bad, I have created 4 different projects which I was hired for and since then lost, 1 of those I created 3 times from scratch and each time I made it differntly thinking that maybe the problem lies with me or my coding as I am not the best and am still learning after 10 years
But each time ended up with the same issues and bugs plagging me, yes it is frustrating and very anoying.
Maybe it is due to the fact that each of these projects was quite complex, with multiple events and calculations, but I did figure that was the strength of scriptcase which is why I opted to buy it in the first place and of course to save hours of time, instead I wasted hours, weeks, months.
Lost 3 customers in the process, not counting how much money it has cost me as the end result.

On the other hand I do agree with Albert (aducom), yes sad to say it is probley the best app around for fast php platform creation and it does have some amazing features and abilities, if only they all work........
I have also tried many others, lately the latest version of phpmaker and there simply is no comparison, scriptcase knocks it out the water, but phpmaker works and creates simple platforms.
Since then I am back to hand coding as I prefere this over some half made not fully working and buggy app which doesnt help me or my customer. As of course what do you say when your days, weeks delayed, oh sorry mr x but I have to wait for scriptcase to move their rear end and fix these bugs. Well only if it were that easy right and customers were so understanding allowing for bugs or incomplete platforms.

End result is scriptcase would be or will be a great ap once it works without the most rediculas issues and most pathetic support I have ever come accross.
To note dont pay for the extra support tickets, its really not worth it! spend your money on some flowers for the wife instead then at least she wont grind you when you tell her you spent a few hundred bucks on an aplication that doesnt realy perform as you expect, infact it cost you more money than you thought and that you lost your most important customers because of it.

Sad to hear it went that way. Wish I could have helped. And I must agree on the support ticket part unfortunately. Nothing more to say here, I would repeat myself.

Thought I would update this post as I hadnt tried the latest update which I habe now had the time to check out.
So after the latest update it seems that most my bugs are fixed, not sure if I should be happy or disapointed.....
Still have one bug I had to check out which was button related but otherwise it seems that I have no more errors, crossing my fingers that Im not speaking to soon.
Just shame I lost the projects and customers already...
lets hope that If I accept another project where I need to use scriptcase that I can finish it without the previous headaces.
