  • the visual aesthetics of Scriptcase

I have been using a rival RAD tool for almost 10 years now and am considering moving to Scriptcase. Scriptcase in many ways beats my old product except for only one I have found so far. Ok, maybe two. Visual editing, is one nice feature. Not a deal breaker but a nice feature. My old RAD had a lot more control and flexibility in the layout.

The biggest concern I have is the aesthetics of the css and themes. I have attached a copy of my system and I am not sure if I can make Scriptcase look anywhere near as nice as I believe I have with Bootstrap. That being said, I still believe I will be moving to Scriptcase because the rest of the software seems amazing.

I would love to hear your comments.

I think that you have to decide yourself. Scriptcase is a great product but it does have issues as any tool. You'll find some on this forum. I know of competative products that they clean there forum on critical issues, SC does not. A sample of a similar form (I think that your's could be made pretty similar). I had to obfuscate a bit for privacy issues.

      Hello Kirchaj:

To be honest with you I've criticized SC a lot in past years, yet I've been working with it due to the tools it offers. regarding its css manage i can only tell you that the layout you are looking for can be done, you will find yourself facing a few challenges but can be done never the less.

I would of recommend this link
      http://www.scriptcase.net/forum/show...-design-themes

There you will see a few themes accomplished by some people in the community.

Hope this helps you and I wish you success in your projects.

      Regards

I am in agreement with you. I wish the aesthetics could be a bit nicer, and integrating a popular framework such as bootstrap or foundation would be the best way to go.

I think having a cleaner set of forms, grids and application interface would go very far in making the program appeal to new users.

        Thanks!

Nice examples, also have a few on my portfolio page which have some nice looks especialy the club platform which I had built. The initial design was very lacking but after some time and patience I was able to really clean it up and make it look really great.

I placed a banner in the top (menu). It looks OK when I have a page on a full screen in the browser, but resizing the browser windo causes some parts disappear. Any solutions ?

kafecadm - you statement "use CSS man" isn't very helpful. On my website for example I have a header consisting of Foreground and Background image. When the screen is resized the foreground image is moved so it fits on the screen.I'm not into CSS so it would be to time consuming in digging out or programing CSS by hand unless there is some WYSIWYG easy way.
