Tutorial: Formatting blocks on search forms

This tutorial demonstrates how to use blocks in search application.

Creating a new grid

1. Create a new grid application using products table.

2. Choose the Fields Positioning option in application menu and choose ProductID, ProductName, SupplierID, CategoryID, QuantityPerUnit, UnitPrice and UnitsInStock fields.


3. Back to the initial options “Grid Modules”


4. Select the “Search” as the initial Module.

Block Settings

5. Open Layout folder in menu and click in Blocks.


6. Click in Create New Block.

7. Enter the block Name and Label.

8. Configure the two blocks according to the image below.


Assigning fields and blocks

9. Open the Search folder and click on “Advanced Search >> Select Fields”.


10. Move ProductID, ProductName, SupplierID, CategoryID, QuantityPerUnit, UnitPrice and TotalValue fields below Default Block. And move UnitsInStock, UnitsOnOrder, ReorderLevel and Discontinued fields below New Block.


11. Click the Run button on the toolbar.
