ScriptCase Available Connections

The Scriptcase Database menu brings together resources for creating and editing connections, importing data, modeling structures, building SQL commands, and maintaining the database information used in projects.

In this section, the Connections documentation provides specific guidelines for each supported database. The other menu resources, such as file import, SQL Build, Database Build, ER Diagram, and cache cleanup, are presented as complementary database tools.

New connection

The New connection option allows you to create a connection with a database.

When accessing this option, the user can select the desired database and configure the data required to establish communication between Scriptcase and the database.

The specific connection documentation is available individually for each supported database.

Edit Connection

The Edit Connection option allows you to change the settings of an existing connection.

This option can be used to update data such as server, database, user, password, driver, or other parameters related to the connection configured in the environment.

Import ACCESS

The Import ACCESS option allows you to import information from Microsoft Access files.

This feature can be used to help create or migrate existing structures from Access files for use within Scriptcase.

See more details about importing Access files in the complete documentation.

Import EXCEL

The Import EXCEL option allows you to import data from Microsoft Excel files.

With this option, you can use spreadsheets as a source for creating or feeding data structures in the Scriptcase environment.

See the guidelines for importing Excel spreadsheets in the complete documentation.

Import CSV

The Import CSV option allows you to import data from files in CSV format.

This feature is useful for working with tabular files exported from other systems, allowing you to use this information within the project.

See the step-by-step instructions for importing CSV files in the complete documentation.

SQL Build

The SQL Build option allows you to create and validate SQL commands visually or with assistance.

This feature helps build SQL queries used in applications, making it easier to select tables, fields, conditions, and other parts of the SQL statement.

See more details about the feature in the complete SQL Build documentation.

Database Build

The Database Build option allows you to create or change database structures directly through Scriptcase.

This feature can be used to work with tables, fields, and structural definitions of the database used in the project.

See the details in the complete Database Build documentation.

ER Diagram

The ER Diagram option allows you to view the database structure through an entity-relationship diagram.

This feature makes it easier to analyze tables and their relationships, helping you understand the organization of the database.

Learn how to view tables and relationships in the complete ER Diagram documentation.

Clear Cache

The Clear Cache option allows you to update the cached information stored by Scriptcase related to the database.

This feature can be used when changes made directly in the database, such as creating or changing tables and fields, still do not appear correctly within the tool.
